12 Shoalhaven coffee spots to get your FIX

Holiday Haven
28 Oct 2022

Just because you’re on holiday, it doesn’t mean going without your daily caffeine fix. Gone are the days where good coffee stopped at the city limits – in fact, here in the Shoalhaven you’ll find plenty of cafes to rival those urban ones you’ve left behind. Perhaps it’s the influx of sea- and tree-changers, or maybe it’s just the relaxed pace of life here on the NSW South Coast, but one thing’s for sure – if you’re asking “where can I get a good coffee in the Shoalhaven?”, there will be a LOT of valid answers!

Holiday Haven has 12 holiday parks sprinkled across the region (like chocolate on a cappuccino), so we asked them to share some local knowledge and recommend a great place to grab YOUR next coffee when you’re staying with them. In no particular order, here’s the list…

Bangalay

Staying at Shoalhaven Heads?

Sip at Bangalay

This modern addition to the town has already made more waves than the nearby beach, thanks to its award-winning fine dining offering, plus acclaimed luxury villas. Located just next door to Holiday Haven’s Park, you’ll be stopping by each morning to indulge in the coffee and the surroundings.

The Treehouse Cafe

Staying at Ulladulla?

A sip of any delicious drink at The Treehouse Cafe will make you feel good inside and out! Whether that be organic coffee, iced chai, healthy smoothies or naughty milkshakes – there’s a drink for every palate.

You can’t go past this popular café in town. A family run small businesses who have ethical, humanitarian and sustainable practice concerns. Their direct trade, organic Art of Espresso ‘Kombi Blend’ beans make the finest coffee around! Its peppery chocolate base, malty and nutty overtones with a brown sugar and honeycomb sweetness is sure to satisfy. Serious yum factor!

5 Little Pigs

Staying at Huskisson/White Sands?

Sip at 5 Little Pigs

“Little pig, little pig, let me come in!” That’s likely what you’ll be saying once you try the coffee and treats on offer at this popular spot in the leafy main street of Husky. Family-run and a fixture on the landscape here for 10 years, this is just the place to be a little bit piggy.

Hampden Deli

Staying at Kangaroo Valley?

Sip at Hampden Deli

There’s really no going wrong in the idyllic main street of the Valley – and the deli that shares its name with the famous bridge up the road is a great way to start the day. The name hints at far more dellights than just coffee (it even has a cooking school!), but if coffee’s all you require, the pleasant outdoor surroundings will set the scene beautifully.

Cuddy Cafe

Staying at Swan Lake?

Sip at Cudmirrah Cafe

Situated in the sleepy town of Cudmirrah, “Cuddy” Cafe sits alongside Holiday Haven Swan Lake and also doubles as the general store and even a pizza spot at night! Petrol next door, post box out the front – it’s all here, including big doors that open up and enjoy the lake views. (Ballet shoes not required.)

Craft Surf Cafe

Staying at Lake Conjola?

Sip at Craft Surf Cafe

The best things in life sometimes take time. And with the local cafe (Tilly and Mo’s) sadly closed, your best bet will be a short drive into Milton, Mollymook or the team’s pick of Craft Surf Cafe – a hole-in-the-wall coffee bar attached to their surf shop in Ulladulla’s main street. The vibe is urban but the coffee is superb’n!

Lagom Bakery

Staying at Burrill Lake?

Sip at Lagom Bakery

Step outside the boom gates and BOOM – your coffee fix is waiting right in front of you at this popular sourdough bakery. But don’t let their penchant for pastry fool you – these guys and girls take their coffee seriously; ethically sourced, small batch, locally roasted goodness that will start your day right.

Rosie Oats

Staying at Lake Tabourie?

Sip at Rosie Oats

There must be something in that Burrill lake water, because it’s here you’ll find Rosie Oats cafe – the favourite fix for nearby Holiday Haven Lake Tabourie. Located on the south side of the bridge, its coffee is only matched in quality by its friendly staff.

Culburra Beach Bakery

Staying at Culburra Beach?

Sip at Culburra Beach Bakery

The team at Culburra Beach have an enviable dilemma – with just too many great coffee places in their small seaside village! But if they’re going by how far coffee-loving crows fly, the closest spot is Culburra Beach Hot Bread Cafe – with plenty of edible treats to enjoy with your beverage (and even more options nearby!)

The Little Shop

Staying at Currarong?

Sip at The Little Shop

Here’s one where you don’t even need to LEAVE the Park to enjoy. The Little Shop is a coffee van that has set up shop alongside the new pool area within Holiday Haven Currarong – and just happens to be the best spot for your daily fix of coffee, juices, milkshakes and baked goods. Now THAT’s convenience!

The Bendy Hub

Staying at Bendalong?

Sip at the Bendy Hub

The Bendy Hub is Bendalong’s general store and community meeting place – where you can get your coffee, along with petrol (don’t get them confused), groceries, alcohol and even a pizza on the right night. You’ll even find the Bendy Brew van whipping up their frothy and espresso goodness right within the Park on weekends and peak times. Mind-bendingly good!
